Gift from the Heart of an Educator
A longtime teacher and Sacred Heart supporter, Ellie Fusco remembered the school in her estate plans, establishing an endowed fund to support Convent & Stuart Hall educators. Ellie recognized that one of the greatest resources in service of the student experience is the faculty the children encounter along their educational journey.
Ellie never attended our school but her Sacred Heart education at Lone Mountain College for Women proved to her the value in what we do. The professionals at Convent & Stuart Hall include educational thought leaders who are experts in their field of study. Through her gift, Ellie is supporting the legacy of academic preeminence in Sacred Heart education for generations to come.
The Elvera L. Fusco Endowment Fund will contribute — in perpetuity — to faculty salaries and benefits, thanks to the charitable remainder trust Ellie had established as part of her estate plan.
A teacher, counselor, and administrator for 43 years in the San Francisco Unified School District, Ellie spoke of her great respect for the work teachers do. "I know a good teacher can make all the difference," she said. "You have to do what you can to find the good ones and keep them, and give them what they need to do their job."
